Your WorkflowMax / Xero Practice Manager must used the Report Time Format: Decimal. This can be found in the Practice/Organisation Settings under the business tab. We require it in this format as it is not possible to add semicolons in the hour / minute format in a database. It is very important that your account remains set to a decimal time format or your Link Reporting connection will be broken.
To explain this in a bit more detail, if you enter 7:30 into excel then check the text in the calculation bar, it will show 7:30:00 AM. When you add a number of these together you get a mess, which is why it needs to be set at decimal for our calculations.
If you do require a report to be printed / exported from the system in a hour/minute format then this is possible by updating the time format settings. A change in time settings must be updated then reverted back within the same day. We highly recommend not editing the Report Format settings in your system but understand it may be required from time to time. If the overnight sync occurs with the account set to the incorrect format, then it can take us up to 48 hours to re-configure your Link Reporting account.
You can update the time format of your account by following the steps below:
1. Go to Business > Settings > Organisation Settings >Scroll down to the Reports section > Update the Time Format to Hour / Minute > Save.
2. Export/ print the required reports in the hour/minute format.
3. Go back into Business > Settings > Organisation Settings >Scroll down to the Reports section > Ensure Time Format is re-set to Decimal > Save.
As a final point, it is worth noting that WorkflowMax and Xero Practice Manager will round 0.33 + 0.33 + 0.33 to 1.0. Link Reporting does not round this to keep consistency between the User Interface, the PDF's and Excel. You may therefore see minor rounding errors between Link and WorkflowMax/XPM.
